MOSAIC is guided by a structure that makes sure our research is scientifically strong, ethically sound, and shaped by the people it serves. In addition to our day-to-day research team, we have several groups that provide advice and direction:
GOVERNANCE
Guided by ethics and community partners to ensure responsible use of data.
Governance
Steering Committee
This group keeps us on track. It includes MOSAIC’s lead researchers, health leaders from across BC and Yukon, and doctors from different specialties — including family medicine, cardiology, and rural care. Their role is to make sure the study stays focused on the goals that matter most for patients and communities.
Scientific Advisory Committee
This team brings together experts from across Canada and around the world. They are leaders in heart health, genetics, Indigenous health research, artificial intelligence, and care in rural and remote communities. Their job is to make sure we are using the latest science and best methods so MOSAIC delivers results that will make a difference.
Patient Partner Council
This council makes sure that patients’ voices are at the heart of MOSAIC. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and communities. They guide how we design the study, how we communicate, and how we protect privacy. They help us make sure that the research reflects what patients and families truly need. Indigenous Advisory Panel
This panel is made up of Indigenous patients with lived experience of heart conditions linked to genetics. Their role is to guide all Indigenous parts of the study. They help us follow Indigenous ways of knowing, respect cultural priorities, and make sure data is handled in ways that are safe, ethical, and aligned with community values. Members may serve throughout the study, and can choose their own replacements if needed, ensuring that the panel always reflects community voices.
